Gwen was born in the midwest and raised in the Black Hills of South Dakota. She graduated from the Univeristy of Iowa with a BS degree and certificate in Dental Hygiene. Gwen is married to Russell R. Stone, formerly of Bassett, Virginia. They have two adult children, Cam of Ashville, North Carolina and Jane of Richmond, Virginia. Cam is a retinal surgeon, married with three children. Jane is a flight attendant with a major airline based in the Washington, DC area. Gwen has worked and lived in the Bon Air area since moving to Richmond over 30 years ago. She has been active in community, professional, school and church activities during this time.
